Boxing is a Legacy activity with a rich history at PCYC NSW, dating back to 1937.
As people come from near and far, one of the many stories will be them sharing about how they used to come to PCYC and participate in a Boxing Program. Some of those original clubs like City of Sydney, Blacktown, Balmain, and Glebe brings back memories for our members.
As we adjust to the new landscape of Post Covid-19 our approach to the boxing programs that we offer ensures that we are 100% safe and meet all of the current rules and regulations.
The Boxing programs we offer include:

Junior Boxing – Primary School ages from 5-12 years old. Focus on Boxing Fundamentals, Fitness, Footwork and lots of fun!

Boxing Group Fitness – Designed for all levels and ages to engage in group boxing fitness for enjoyment.

Boxing Open Class – All levels and ages to engage in the more serious boxing fundamentals with the motivation to move into the Advanced Boxing Classes. These classes are specifically designed to provide a pathway into Amateur Boxing.

Boxing Open Advanced Class – Not for the faint hearted! These classes are for the serious individuals that are existing Amateur Boxers and or future Amateur Boxers. Those suitable would be at an Elite Level / striving towards being at an Elite Level.

Women's Only Boxing Classes – These classes are designed to engage and encourage more women attending boxing without the stress of wondering if they are in the right place. We create a friendly environment to get you up to speed and move into the streamline classes that are available at Clubs.

Amateur Boxing Classes – These classes are designed for Amateur Boxers only. Normally individuals would attend the Advanced Class with the intent to transition into this class. The Head Coach will make a decision if you are suitable to attend this class.

These pathways are also supported by Boxing Tournaments that PCYC run in the NSW area. We have two experienced state-wide coordinators - Isa Aiono and Joel Keegan - who promote and match-make our Boxing Events.

For those PCYC Amateur Boxers that excel, we support growth to greatness, and offer pathways are via Boxing NSW, representing at a state level, and potentially competing for Australia! Boxing Australia provides Elite Training Camps at the AIS Campus in Canberra.
*All PCYC Trainers, Boxers and Clubs must register and affiliate annually in order to compete on any PCYC Boxing show.
